Cryptsy is an altcoin exchange offering to trade such digital currencies as: BitCoin, DarkCoin, DogeCoin, LiteCoin, VeriCoin, BlackCoin, Nxt, etc. There are more then 130 types of cryptocurrencies allowed to trade on Cryptsy at the moment. They have recently started a loyalty program where you can collect CryptsyPoints by trading on their platform and referring it to new users. They also make drawings of prizes now every week which you can enter with only 0.1 Cryptsy Point. Their site states that USD trades will come in June, however it does not seem like it has started yet.
The Cryptsy.com exchange is operated by Project Investors, Inc., it was launched on May 20th, 2013. They are based in Delray Beach, FL, USA. The platform is designed for trading altcoins, which have attracted lots of cryptocurrency derivatives enthusiasts.

Cryptsy does not provide any information about the turnover, however, you can see a 24 hour volume of the markets on their platform, there were 187 active markets on their site at the moment of writing this review. The overall daily volume of all the pairs on their trading platform varies between 2k and 4k Bitcoin, which makes Cryptsy probably the most popular altcoin marketplace.
Unfortunately, they do not have an official app for your smart phone. It might be quite difficult to develop an app that would allow you to trade more then 130 cryptocurrencies.
The fees are not so appealing, you will be charged 0.2% fee for buying and 0.3% for selling. User to user transfers are totally free.
Cryptsy provides API access to their platform in 3 different methods, depending on your needs. These three are: Public API, Authenticated API and Socket Push API.
If you will be looking for support you can try a chat which is available on their page, however it looks like you could get help only from other users there. Nonetheless, there is a ticket form availabe and a email address to contact support.
Cryptsy is trying to be as secure as possible, majority of users funds are held offline. Two-Factor Authentication is enabled for every account. Strong password requirement and they are hashed on their database.
All in all, Cryptsy alternative digital currency trading platform looks rather promising if you want to trade some of the not so popular as Bitcoin cryptocurrencies. They are constantly upgrading their service and adding new altcoins to their marketplace.
