HitBTC is a bitcoin and litecoin cryptocurrency trading platform. After a recently ended poll they are planning to add DogeCoin to the list of currencies you can trade on their site. HitBTC offers a rather unique solution on their site, that is a Demo of their exchange. It is a really helpful tool for the novice traders, as well as, for a lot more sophisticated ones to test robot trading. The site itself seems rather good to the eye with a sleek user interface which can be used easily. There are two types of orders available, that is market and limit.
HitBTC site states that the project was launched in middle of the 2012 by HIT Technologies. However, some posts from a representative of the exchange on bitcointalk.org suggests that the project went live from its Beta only on February 2014 and is now incorporated under Ullus Corporation. No other information regarding any real person connected with the trading platform could be found.
Server of the exchange is located in Germany.
The last 30 days turnover reaches $17,138,886.49 and shows that they are doing good enough having in mind that they only went live on February. Also, this is only from bitcoin while they are also allowing litecoin trades.
At the moment they do not have an app for your mobile device launched. Nonetheless, they have announced a contest on their site on April for mobile app developers. They are offering $10,000 as a reward for this challenge. The challenge has ended on 15 May, that means we will probably see their apps released soon.
The fees do not differ much from other exchanges. Order execution will incur a 0.1% transaction fee. There are no fees for depositing or withdrawing cryptocurrency, with one exception for withdrawing litecoin where a flat rate of 0.001 litecoin applies. It is a lot more convenient for those who use EUR inside SEPA zone as there are no fees for deposits and only 0.90€ fee for withdrawals.
HitBTC offers an extensive guide on how to use their API with lots of helpful examples. It is posted on GitHub repository.
The support side of HitBTC looks to be satisfactory for most of our needs. There is telephone numbers provided on their contact page one in Netherlands and the other in US, however we have not tested them and could not comment if they are even working. There are mail addresses for contacting support listed as well.
In conclusion, HitBTC looks like a well developed digital currencies trading site, with a very unique feature implemented that is the Demo version of the platform where you can test your trading skills. However, the lack of public knowledge about the company and who is really behind this project, brings some serious trust issues to many who would like to use their site.
